This project provided outdoor living space to an existing rowhouse in DC’s northwest neighborhood of Columbia Heights. The project replaces a traditional rear deck with a large, multi-tiered curved concrete terrace that leads to a concrete fish pond in the rear of the yard. This was a complex concrete pour requiring custom-made curved forms up to 5’ tall. Upon completion and curing of the concrete, all surfaces were acid-stained giving the terrace a beautiful, rich color.
